Hello my faithful readers,
I am so happy to see you all here. A note to say thank you for subscribing and joining me in this space. I have really valued the conversations we’ve all been having. Today is a quick and special announcement that I am the lucky conversation partner for not one but TWO events with Kimberly King Parsons for her launch of WE WERE THE UNIVERSE, her debut novel which is out today!!!! This means you can walk yourself into any bookstore and pick up a bright pink copy, which you will very much want to do. Kim and I will be talking about the book at Powell’s Books downtown tonight at 7 pm, and you can come and get your book signed there, and then on Wednesday the 15th at Elliot Bay Book Company in Seattle at 7 pm we will be back at it. What will be talking about? Oh, just the universal connection of love that persists beyond death, grief journeys, motherhood, the way writing books shapes who we are, the music of sentences, channelling our characters, and the dripping lush freaking beauty of WWTU that honestly just doesn’t come around often or at all. This book is a stunning achievement that could have only been written by Kim, someone whose main character Kit describes new motherhood exhaustion as being so tired you think your hair is blonde dogs. YES. This book is pee your pants funny, it GOES there (there being the only place I want to go when it comes to reading about relationships, love, desire, and addiction). Okay, so come see us in Portland or in Seattle. Get a book signed, say hi, ask Kim your burning questions, and if you are not local to those places, know that Kim will be on a full fledged tour too, so check her dates here. In any case, order the freaking book, you will not regret it. I stress this because this is the kind of writing we want in this world! We have to support the things we want to see.
In other news I’m busy cooking up some new posts for you all. I’m so excited, so stay tuned. We have so much to talk about. And thank you to everyone who decided to try out my lil experiment and has written in to me about it. You all are giving me CHILLS with your self discovery and sharing your beautiful, beautiful journeys on this artistic path.
In gratitude,
C
